Community Concerts
Eldorado Park Community Concert
This is an annual community event which brings together a group of primary schools from Eldorado Park for a concert in collaboration with local singers and musicians. This concert acts as an arts project for the schoolchildren, promotes local talent, and aims to uplift and bring together the members of this community for an inspiring celebration of community spirit!
Songs of Praise
The first of these concerts was held back in 1992, and it has now been held in 41 different towns in South Africa! It has become a well-loved annual tradition in which worshippers gather in praise of the Lord through a mix of both traditional and modern music. This concert transcends culture and language barriers and provides a sense of serenity, embracing music as a powerful form of worship, comfort, and solidarity
Orchestra from Scratch
Presented in 2012 for the first time Orchestra from Scratch was an opportunity for amateur orchestral musicians (with a minimum of Grade 3) to experience playing with others in an orchestral setting. Players receive the music in advance and practice for weeks before coming together for one day of rehearsals and a concert under the baton of Maestro Richard Cock.
Players come from as far afield as Nelspruit and Polokwane to join in this fantastic event. The number of players has ranged from 81, all the way up to 171 and we have had players from the ages of 7 to 87!
